Brew Tea, Brew Peace: 2016 Tea Tasting Event(Beijing) of Tea Master Zhang Tianfu’s Award-Winning Tea

2016 Tea Tasting Event(Beijing) of Tea Master Zhang Tianfu’s Award-Winning Tea took place on 3rd December at Beijing Peace Garden Museum.

At a time of early winter, Beijing was enveloped in heavy smog, yet the once-in-a-lifetime tea tasting event attracted a group of eminent diplomats, business leaders, cultural activists and tea enthusiasts, who all eagerly awaited a taste of Top Four famous award-winning tea that even those who lived in Wu Yi Mountain for decades might not have the privilege to drink. 

Recently, Gongtai Tea House, in collaboration with Cunrentang Ceramics, under the umbrella of Mr. Li Cunren, a prestigious modern ceramic art master from Taiwan Yingge, launched 108 sets of exquisite gift boxes-Four famous tea i.e. Big Red Robe, White Cockscomb, Iron Arhat and Water Golden Turtle, in four handmade glazed steans. Each stean has a serial number engraved by its maker placed in gift box made of red sandalwood. 108 carries manifold meanings. Twelve top notch tea covering Big Red Robe, Narcissus, Cinnamon and Mingcong with first, second and third prizes under each category.

720 kinds of tea entered the competition this year with 12 best tea standing out after four days of tasting and examining by both experts and the general public. Each winning tea has its own uniqueness.

Tea master Mr. Sun Kangrong aka Lao Shan shared a rare tea from a century-old tea tree and received unanimous positive comments.
