In order to show the new look of ancient capital Beijing and let foreign friends feel and know Beijing better, “Sunlon Cup – Beautiful Beijing in the Eyes of Foreign Friends” Photography Contest was co-organized by Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal Government, Information Office of Beijing Municipal Government, Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges, Beijing Education Committee, Beijing Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, Beijing Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation, Beijing Charity Association and China World Peace Foundation from May to October in 2013.

This contest drew extensive attention of many foreign photography enthusiasts. The organizing committee collected 4168 pieces of works with broad range of topics from 57 different countries. These works keep a good record of harmonious beautiful today and hopeful future in view of foreign people. After sincere evaluation by the review committee, 300 pieces had been selected for final competition, 50 of which were then selected as excellent works of this photography contest. Finally there were 2 first prize winners, 4 second prize winners and 8 third prize winners.

On Dec 12th, 2013 Sunlon Cup “Beautiful Beijing in the Eyes of Foreign Friends” Awarding Ceremony & Five-year Retrospective Exhibition was held in Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. President of BPAFFC Mr. Zhao Jiaqi delivered a speech. Director of organizing committee Ms. Li Xiaoqiang and Vice President of BPAFFC Mr. Li Ruohong presided over the awarding ceremony. First prize winner George Dopas from Greek addressed on behalf of all the prize winners. Leader of sponsoring organizations also attended the ceremony and issued trophies and certificates to the photographers. On the same day, the organizing committee held 2013 award-winning work exhibition and fiver-year retrospective exhibition of “Beijing in the look of Foreign Friends” photography contest which made the ceremony a grand gathering of photography enthusiasts.
