On June 12th, 2017, a delegation from Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality consisting 10 people visited the Peace Garden, and held a cordial exchange with Dr. LI Ruohong, President of China World Peace Foundation and Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation. 

Headed by LI Hui, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, the delegation included officials from the Secretariat, News Office, Political Department, Pan-Pacific Department, Europe-Africa Department, Liaison Department, NGO Department, International Affairs Department, Hongkong and Macau Department. Dr. LI, after a warm welcome for the delegation, showed the visiting members the four exhibition zones, both indoor and outdoor, in the Peace Garden Museum. The members also took great pleasure in watching a publicity video documentary composed by relevant national department for the Peace Garden. 

The delegation displayed a huge interest in the activities organized by the Foundation and expressed a high degree of approval for Dr. LI’s vision in creating an international media club to promote publicity to the foreign countries. A number of concrete proposals and methods were put forward during the meeting which centered on Belt and Road Initiative and governance in Beijing, and, after an in-depth discussion, an initial cooperative intention was reached in areas such as peace and sports and urban improvement.

Director LI expressed the hope that the Foreign Affairs Office can, with the extensive diplomatic resources provided by the Foundation, synergize with the Foundation for a long-term cooperation for the common good for the whole society. He also hoped that more exchanges and interactions can be seen between the Foreign Affairs Office and the Foundation under the framework of Belt and Road Initiative so that both sides can provide excellent services for the international community.
