Li Ruohong is Awarded with the “Hero of Peace” Honor by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry

On 21 December, 2017, the Venezuela Peace Stone Unveiling Ceremony was jointly held by the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, China World Peace Foundation, and Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation at Beijing Peace Museum. In the ceremony, on behalf of the Ministry of the People's Power of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, H.E. Mr. Jorge Arreaza, Foreign Minister of Venezuela, awarded Dr. Li Ruohong, president of China World Peace Foundation, with the “Hero of Peace” honor, and conveyed to Dr. Li greetings from H.E. President of Venezuela. H.E. Mr. Jorge Arreaz also presented Dr. Li a piece of contemporary artwork by Juvenal Ravelo, famous Venezuela modern artist. After the ceremony, H.E. Mr. Ivan Zerpa Guerrero, Venezuelan Ambassador to China, donated a limited edition of commemorative coin to the Peace Museum. Around 100 guests participated the event, including ambassadors of Cuba, Jamaica, Grenada, representative of Haiti, diplomatic officials from embassies of Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia and other countries, government officials from China and abroad, and representatives of social organizations, cultural and business circles, and so on.

“We love peace and against war… We love life and fight for defending lives. We are always prepared.” Bathed in bright sunshine, H.E. Mr. Jorge Arreaza, Foreign Minister of Venezuela, H.E. Mr. Félix Plasencia, Vice Minister at Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, H.E. Ivan Zerpa, Venezuelan Ambassador to China, and Dr. Li Ruohong jointly unveiled the Venezuelan Peace Stone that is engraved with the peace inscription by H.E. Commander in Chief Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías.

Peace Doves Release Ceremony with H.E. Mr. Foreign Minister of Venezuela, diplomatic officers from different countries, and distinguished guests from China and abroad


After the ceremony, H.E. Mr. Jorge Arreaza delivered an impassioned speech, expressing Venezuela’s will to enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership with China and thanking socialistic China for its tremendous contribution in maintaining peace in the world. Mr. Li Ruohong, president of China World Peace Foundation, said in his speech that peace is still under challenge in the current complicated and changing political and economic international context. Regional conflicts and economic imbalance are affecting the stability of people’s lives. He recalled the vivid scene of an enthusiastic conversation with President Chávez and welcomed Venezuela and more Latin American countries to come to the Peace Garden for exchanging ideas and pulling wisdom. He hoped that these precious endeavors could influence influential people, and with the support of people, we can call for peace and create a better future.
