On September 8th, 2020, in order to improve the professionality of the traditional cultural staff in the whole district, strengthen the learning and exchanges among museums, traditional cultural heritage bases, and traditional craftsmen, Peace Garden Museum and Chaoyang District Cultural Tourism Bureau held the “Building a City of Museums” 2020 Chaoyang District Museum Business Training. More than 30 Staffs from Beijing Yanjing Bajue Art Museum, Guanfu Museum, Beijing Yingjie Hard Rock Art Museum, Beijing Lizhitang Imperial Examination Plaque Museum, Dongba Cultural Center, Nande Museum, China Puppet Art Theater, Today Art Museum and other museums, and officers from cultural tourism department in Chaoyang District participated in the training.

Gao Lirong, executive deputy curator of Peace Garden Museum hosted the training and pointed out that cultural and museum industry were under huge  challenge because of the epidemic in 2020, it is important for museum staff to strengthen professional skills and promote endogenous power.

The national intangible cultural heritage gold lacquer inlaid painting technique representative inheritor, gold lacquer inlaid forbidden city cultural relics restoration team member, and crafts artist Hou Xue gave the lecture about the royal craft gold lacquer inlay, talked about its development history, craft technology, inheritance and development of inlay craftsmanship and the main application scenes in contemporary world. He emphasized the unique charm of gold lacquer inlay as a royal craft. He also shared his experience of  participating in the cultural relics restoration in the Forbidden City, and his understanding about the inheritance and development of the "craftsman spirit" and intangible cultural heritage.

After the training, the museum staffs gained a lot of knowledge, and they were keep talking about the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage, as well as the future work planning and cooperation opportunities of each museum. Through this training, the museum staffs and officers of the cultural and tourism department in Chaoyang District have expanded their horizons, increased knowledge, and promoted the exchanges and cooperation between museums. In the future, they will invest more enthusiasm and solid efforts in the work of building a City of Museums, and contribute to the innovative development of the four centers in Beijing, the great revival of Chinese culture, and the protection and inheritance of the world's intangible cultural heritage.
