Li Ruohong Meets with the Cuban Delegation Attending the First Beijing International Intangible Cultural Heritage Week

On October 25th, Dr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation and President of the Beijing International Foundation Peace Culture Foundation, met with a Cuban delegation led by the wife of the Cuban Ambassador to China which participated in the first International Intangible Cultural Heritage Week in Beijing, at the Peace Garden Museum in Beijing. During the meeting, Mr.Leivan Garcia, the head of the 72 year old Cuban National Folkloric Ensemble , and Mr.Fernandes, the president of the Cuban National Culinary Federation, respectively introduced Cuba's traditional cuisine and music participation in this intangible cultural heritage week, explained how to combine Cuban and Caribbean characteristics of both, bringing young people closer to tradition by combining intangible cultural heritage with modern art. Chairman Li said that those with ethnic characteristics can be accepted by the world. As an official partner of UNESCO, Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation can collaborate on ethnic cuisine, culture and arts in the two countries and regions for the promotion of the inheritance and dissemination of intangible cultural heritage. The Cuban delegation visited the "Belt and Road" exhibition in the Peace Garden Museum under the guide of international volunteers. The delegates thanked President Li Ruohong for his long-term friendly cooperation with Cuba, and hoped that in the future, under the support of the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation , both parties could promote the cultural economy with characteristics of the two countries into a new situation.
